November 4 is the last day Peterhof's fountains run in 2026. After that date, the Grand Cascade and all fountains in the Lower Park switch off until spring. According to local sources, this year's season has already run slightly longer than usual.

Why Go Now

Late October at Peterhof is visually different from the summer peak: golden autumn trees lining the park alleys, fewer tourists on weekdays, fountains against a completely different backdrop. If you've seen it in July, this is worth a second trip.

The November 4 holiday weekend will bring more visitors than a regular weekday. If possible, come on a weekday morning. If the weekend is your only option, arrive before 11 AM on Saturday.

Getting There

Commuter train from Baltiysky Station (Baltiyskaya metro) to Novy Peterhof station — about 40 minutes, frequent service. From the station, it's a 25-minute walk to the palace or a short bus ride.

Meteor hydrofoil from the embankment near the Hermitage — about 30 minutes on the water. Weather-dependent in November; confirm the schedule before going.

Car: parking fills up by late morning on weekends.

For groups or families, a direct transfer from the city centre is the most comfortable option.

What to See

The Lower Park contains the main fountains — the Grand Cascade with the Samson statue, Adam and Eve fountains, and the Chess Mountain cascade. Walking the main route takes 2–3 hours.

The Upper Garden has a separate ticket. Fewer people, quieter atmosphere — good if you want to avoid the main crowds.

Buy tickets online at peterhofmuseum.ru to skip the ticket queues at the gate.

Practical Notes

November at Peterhof is cold, often windy from the Gulf of Finland. Waterproof, warm footwear is essential — the paths are long and the temperature can drop quickly. Daylight ends around 5 PM.
