St. Isaac's Square, 1 — write this address down separately from the Hermitage and the Russian Museum. This is where the Central Exhibition Hall Manege stands: 10,000 square metres of a former cavalry riding hall that now hosts the city's largest exhibition projects.

Two "Maneges" — which one you need
Searching "Manege St. Petersburg" returns more than one result. The key distinction:
- Central Exhibition Hall Manege — St. Isaac's Square, 1. A permanent exhibition venue with a regular calendar.
- Manezhnaya Square Manege — a different historical building near Konyushennaya Square, used for occasional events.
If you're heading to a specific exhibition, confirm the address on the official Manege website (manege.ru) before leaving your accommodation.
What's on and when
Manege specialises in large-format projects: major retrospectives, historical themed shows, photography and media art exhibitions. The programme changes every few months. Ticket prices vary by exhibition — check the current show's page online to see exact costs and concession categories.
Tip: buy tickets online rather than at the door. The queue at the cash desk before popular openings can add 20 minutes to your visit.

Getting there
From Admiralteyskaya metro — 8 minutes on foot along Malaya Morskaya Street. From Nevsky Prospekt metro — 12 minutes through Palace Square. Several bus routes stop on St. Isaac's Square itself.
How long to allow
A compact thematic show: 1–1.5 hours. A major retrospective where you want to read every label: 2.5–3 hours. The hall is large and you'll be on your feet throughout — wear comfortable shoes.
What's nearby
St. Isaac's Cathedral is a 5-minute walk. The Bronze Horseman and Senate Square are 7 minutes away. The Neva embankment is 10 minutes on foot — an easy loop if the weather holds.

Who this isn't for
If you want a permanent collection you can return to, Manege isn't the right choice — everything here is temporary. For Russian art, go to the Russian Museum; for world classics, the Hermitage.
