Port Art Fair is coming back to Sevkabel Port in May 2027: Sobaka.ru has learned the dates for the fifth edition of the contemporary art fair — May 20 to 23, 2027. Applications from artists and galleries will open in November.

If you love contemporary art, or you're hoping to take part as an exhibitor, here's what's known so far.

📅 Dates and what's changing

The fair launched in 2023. Valentina Antyushina, deputy general director of Sevkabel Port, explained the idea this way: St. Petersburg lacked large contemporary art fairs, and interest in them keeps growing. In her words, the project has become one of the major events on the city's cultural calendar.

For the fifth, anniversary edition, the organizers are refreshing the curatorial structure. The mission stays the same: introducing new names and building connections between artists, galleries, collectors and visitors. Antyushina thanked Anna Zavediy and her team, who have run the fair since 2023.

📝 Open call: who and when

The open call opens in November. Galleries, self-organized groups and independent artists will be able to apply. The organizers haven't published the application terms yet — watch Sevkabel Port's and the fair's own announcements.

Past editions drew plenty of interest. The third fair, in May 2025, received over 1,000 applications; organizers selected 87 independent artists (six of them working in digital art) and 34 galleries. For the fourth edition, media reports put the number of applications at a record roughly 1,500.

If you're planning to apply, prepare your portfolio early and keep an eye on the open-call deadlines.
