September is Divo Ostrov's most underrated month. The summer crowds leave with the school holidays, but the amusement park on Krestovsky Island keeps running — and on a September weekday you can ride the headline coasters more times in an afternoon than a July visitor manages all day. Here's an honest look at who the end of the season suits, and who shouldn't risk it.
Why September is the best time for the big rides
An amusement park's real currency isn't the ticket price — it's the queue. In summer the flagship coasters take longer to queue for than to ride; on a September weekday you can sometimes walk almost straight on. If you're coming for teenagers who want maximum rides, a weekday now delivers more riding per ruble than any summer weekend.
What changes with the weather
- wind matters more than rain: the tall, extreme rides are sensitive to gusts and are the first to be paused in bad weather. Coming specifically for the scariest ride during a wind warning is pointless;
- dress in layers: open coasters at speed are far colder than the embankment below; gloves in late September are not paranoia;
- days are shorter: the evening lights are pretty, but with small children the daylight window is more comfortable.
When the season ends
There's no single fixed "closing date" — the park winds down gradually with the weather, and hours change week to week. Check the current schedule on the official site divo-ostrov.ru before setting out; riding the metro to Krestovsky to kiss a locked turnstile is a sour way to spend a morning. Once the park goes into hibernation, the indoor family option is the city's water parks.

Prices in September are the same as in summer: single rides cost 250 to 2,000 rubles, and the all-day "Universal" wristband is 8,000 rubles (valid until 20:00; Katapulta, Booster, Raketa and the catamarans are excluded). Entry to the park is free.
