October is when people search hardest for spa hotels near St Petersburg: the Gulf of Finland is already cold, the forest is wet, and you want to get away for the weekend to somewhere with a warm pool, a hammam and pine trees outside a panoramic window. The key question if you don't have a car is how to get there: many country hotels are well away from stations, and a weekend can easily disappear on the journey.
On 19 October 2026 we checked the websites of four country spa hotels you can reach by suburban train or bus, plus the timetable of the North-Western Suburban Passenger Company (SZPPK): Igora in the Priozersk district, AZIMUT in Repino, Gelios in Zelenogorsk and Lessmore in Roshchino. Below is what the spa includes, opening hours, day-visit prices and the journey. Room rates change daily, so for accommodation prices see the hotels' websites, where you can also book.
🌲 Igora: a thermal complex with a panoramic pool
The year-round Igora resort has reopened its spa complex after a major renovation, and it is the most "resort-like" of the four. The thermal complex has a 250 m² panoramic pool, children's and hydromassage pools, a spacious sauna and a hammam, a "snow bowl" and an "artificial sun" zone with a pebble beach and collagen lamps, plus a lounge with a bar.

The complex runs in two-hour sessions from 9:00 into the evening: the last session open to children aged 6–13 starts at 16:00, sessions from 18:30 are for guests aged 14 and over, and on Fridays, Saturdays and holidays there is a late session from 21:00 to 23:00. The separate spa area with massages and treatments is also 14+, and a doctor consults each guest before a treatment. For privacy there are private suites with a hammam, contrast plunge pools and a Russian or alpine banya.
The resort offers a special package: four days and three nights in a cottage with breakfast and an "Anti-stress" or "Recovery" spa programme for every guest. The cottages sleep 4–6 and have a kitchen, a fireplace and their own Finnish sauna.
Getting there: take a suburban train from Finlyandsky station towards Sosnovo, Priozersk or Kuznechnoye to the "Platforma 69 km" stop; the hotel is 3 km from the platform. Buses are more convenient: Nos. 897 and 859 from the Northern Bus Station by Devyatkino metro, and No. 960 from Parnas metro; the Igora stop is within walking distance of the hotel.
🌊 AZIMUT Repino: a pool 830 m from the station
AZIMUT Park Hotel & Spa Repino is the easiest option without a car. The train from Finlyandsky station to Repino takes about 45 minutes and the fare on 24 October is 65 roubles; from the station the hotel at 10 Lugovaya Street is an 830 m walk. Repino is a village on the shore of the Gulf of Finland, so there's somewhere to get some air between the pool and dinner.

The spa centre has a 25-metre, five-lane pool with a panoramic view, a Finnish sauna and a Turkish hammam by the pool, and a gym. It is open from 8:00 to 23:50, children under 14 until 22:00. You don't have to stay at the hotel: a single 180-minute visit costs 3,500 roubles for an adult, 2,000 for a child under 12 and 7,500 for a family of two adults and a child aged 4–12. The pool is occasionally closed for half a day for maintenance — as it was on 18 October — so check the hotel's news before you go.
🔥 Gelios in Zelenogorsk: a hammam and a mini-banya, with the pool across the road
The Gelios spa hotel stands at 593 Primorskoye Shosse in Zelenogorsk. Its spa is about treatments and steam rather than a big pool: a Turkish hammam with moist steam at 40–45 °C (daily 9:00–21:00), a "cedar barrel" mini-sauna, a Charcot shower and massages.

The best option for a group is the "banya with jacuzzi": a sauna with a small hot-tub pool, a steam room and a lounge for four (up to six on request). An hour costs 3,000 roubles before 14:00, 3,500 from 14:00 to 18:00 and 3,900 in the evening, and the booking must be paid within 30 minutes. There's no swimming pool in the hotel itself: it is 500 m away, across Primorskoye Shosse, in the grounds of the Severnaya Riviera sanatorium. An hour's swim costs 650 roubles for an adult, and Gelios guests get a 10% discount coupon at reception. Sessions run from 10:00 to 20:15, and the first Monday of each month is a cleaning day.
Getting there: trains from Finlyandsky station to Roshchino and Vyborg run through Zelenogorsk (timetable on the SZPPK website); from the station a taxi is easiest.
💧 Lessmore in Roshchino: two pools in a pine forest
Lessmore is a hotel complex in a pine forest at 72 Pionerskaya Street, Roshchino. Its aqua zone has two pools: a 25 × 10 m sports pool with four lanes and a counter-current, and a 6.5 × 12 m "interactive" pool, 80 cm deep, with waterfalls and an underwater whirlpool for families with children. There is also a Finnish sauna at up to 110 °C and a hammam at up to 45 °C.

The aqua zone is open to hotel guests from 9:00 to 23:00 and to everyone else from 9:00 to 21:00; from 21:00 it's a "quiet hour" for guests aged 14+. Three hours cost 3,000 roubles for an adult and 2,000 for a child Monday to Thursday, and 4,000 and 3,000 Friday to Sunday. The journey: a regular train from Finlyandsky station to Roshchino takes just over an hour, the Lastochka express 35 minutes, at 71 and 73 roubles; from the station, take a taxi.
🧭 Good to know
- Book weekend rooms early on the hotel's website, where current prices are shown.
- Bring a swimsuit, swimming cap and flip-flops — check each hotel's pool rules on its website.
- Train tickets to Repino, Zelenogorsk and Roshchino are sold at the station ticket office and in the operator's app; check the last evening trains in advance.
- When booking, have your passport ready — Russian hotels register every guest. International bank cards don't work in Russia, so arrange payment beforehand.
- If you just want a city banya for an evening without an overnight stay, see our St Petersburg banya guide; for a walk on the gulf, read our piece on Sestroretsk and Komarovo in autumn.
- Not for you if you want peace without children — Igora and Lessmore have children's pools, so there's no promise of a child-free calm; nor if you're after the sea — in late October the gulf is far too cold for swimming.

A country spa in October isn't about the beach but about warmth: two hours in hot water with wet pines behind the glass do more for you than any weekend in the city. Checked on 19 October 2026 against the websites of the Igora resort, AZIMUT Park Hotel & Spa Repino, the Gelios spa hotel, the Lessmore hotel complex and the North-Western Suburban Passenger Company.
