St. Petersburg weekend weather: Storm Felicia brings rain and wind

Storm Felicia, a North Atlantic cyclone, is bringing rain and wind to St. Petersburg this weekend, 10–11 October. Saturday will be the wet, windy and coldest day, with daytime highs of +8…+10 °C and local gusts of up to 15 m/s. Sunday looks calmer and milder, up to +10…+12 °C with only scattered showers. The simple plan: spend Saturday indoors and save long walks for Sunday.

The forecast day by day

German meteorologists named the cyclone Felicia, according to Mikhail Leus of the Fobos weather centre. On Friday the city sits in its warm sector; colder northern air arrives on Saturday. The figures below come from the St. Petersburg Hydrometeorological Centre forecast published on 9 October.

Forecaster Alexander Kolesov says Saturday may become the coldest day of the autumn so far: daytime temperatures have not yet dropped below +10 °C.

The wind warning for Saturday

The St. Petersburg branch of the Emergencies Ministry warned of local gusts of up to 15 m/s on 10 October. Its advice:

It has been a windy week: on 6 October gusts brought down trees and the Neva rose to 122 cm, the highest level of 2026. As of 9 October there was no official flood warning for the weekend. The ministry's 24-hour hotline is +7 812 299-99-99.

Bridges, boats and parks

We found no official announcement of weather-related changes to the bridge-raising schedule as of 9 October; check the schedule before a late night out. There are also no reports of river cruises being cancelled because of Felicia, but the operator decides on the day, so confirm your Saturday sailing in the morning or move it to Sunday. Parks are best left for Sunday too, since the emergency service advises staying away from trees in strong wind.

A rainy Saturday plan

Head out around midday, when the rain should ease, and take the metro to one big museum for three to four hours: the Hermitage, the Russian Museum or the Kunstkamera. Sunday: the window for walks

With lighter wind, sunny spells and up to +12 °C, Sunday afternoon is the best time for embankments and gardens, now in yellow autumn colours. Choose a central route such as the Mikhailovsky Garden, the Moika and the Field of Mars, where shelter is never far, and still carry an umbrella.
